The Hyatt Regency Hotel is an architectural triumph: a mixture of reddish granite, huge expanses of glass, and a facade that combines Art Deco and neo-Aztec styles. It also boasts views over the River Rhine, cathedral and Cologne's historic centre. The dramatically designed lobby has an imposing 4 metre high waterfall as its centrepiece. Offering 36 square metres of space, the 306 air-conditioned guestrooms are decorated in understated neutral colours with contemporary design furnishings. All are clean and well maintained, as are the marble en suite bathrooms with separate showers and bathtubs. Located directly underneath the glass Atrium Lobby, the Glashaus Restaurant serves contemporary Mediterranean cuisine, with a focus on Italian, in an intimate chandelier-lit ambience with piano music, modern furnishings and bay windows. Alternatively, Graugans Restaurant boasts a menu of over 200 rare, vintage, and modern New World wines and specialises in a fusion of Asian dishes with German cuisine, all served in a classical setting with antique furnishings and contemporary Asian artwork. Guests can also enjoy regional dishes and beers in the Hyatt Beergarden, situated on the banks of the Rhine.
