cleaning staff wanted to start cleaning too early on a couple of occasions. no laundry facilities or options apart form the laundry service which is too expensive for us. apart from that it was really good, we especially enjoyed the free internet service. staff at the front desk very helpful

Laundramat is just up the street behind the Savoy hotel. excellent chinese resturant close by

7 of the 9 people in our group stayed in the hotel. Somehow the 2 men ended up sharing a double bed, even though everyone booked the same type of room. When booking 1 room for 2 people, make sure there is 2 beds. Other than that great hotel, great location, good price. I'll be back again in February.

Top Tip
If your coming to Köln for Christmas markets and want to experience a beer hall, either go to that first or plan to eat there. things to see: climb to the top of the Dom. Its hard work but worth every pant. go to the museum, it looks dull from the outside but quiet beautiful inside. worth every cent. During Christmas markets, try to eat in local restaurants. Service is friendlier, their patient and always willing to describe the menu if you cant speak German.

Great location for railway station, xmas market and cathederal.

A very basic hotel - the phrase "cheap but cheerful" comes to mind. No air conditioning but a big electric fan in the room, noisy but without it the rooms are like ovens on a warm night. The hotel is tucked away down a side street, but it's very close to the DOM catherdral and loads of restuarants and bars plus the river all within easy walking distance.
