The hotel is located 1 kilometre from the centre of Cologne, not far away from the "Stadtgarten," a pleasant, green area. It is also a 5 minute walk to the nearest metro station, "Barbarossaplatz."

The Mado Hotel is housed in a modern, red brick townhouse-style building. The medium sized lobby features a light brown reception desk, with a seating area opposite, beside long floor-to-ceiling windows, which let in plenty of natural light. Also medium sized, the 51 guestrooms are decorated in Mediterranean colour schemes and designed in an Italian style, with light brown furniture. All are clean and well maintained, as are the functional en suite bathrooms. By contrast, the breakfast room is appointed in a traditional German manner, with a tiled floor and colourful friendly decor. There is also a Bar and a winter/beergarden where you can enjoy snacks and drinks, including the famous "Koelsch," a beer brewed only in Cologne.
