The hotel is located right in the heart of the centre of Cologne, in the prime location of Guerzenich, just a few steps from the old town, the famous Cathedral and the shopping/pedestrian streets.

The Intercontinental Hotel incorporates a unique combination of modern design and historical elements from the Roman Age. The original baroque façade has been cunningly integrated into the modern property. The elegant, spacious lobby is adorned with contemporary art and leads onto the lively lobby bar. The 250 luxurious rooms and 12 suites are very spacious and offer the utmost in comfort and style, along with contemporary design and all modern technological facilities. Also spacious, the marble bathrooms have a bathtub and a separate power shower. In the hotel’s "Maulbeers" restaurant, Chef de Cuisine Jörg Stricker spoils you with his own definition of “New German Cuisine.” The dining space itself is dominated by three huge illuminated columns, which have the appearance of oversized lamps. Together with countless candles they are the only light source, enhancing the warm orange and cognac toned décor. Alternatively, the historical fire place room “Overstolz”, named after the impressive 16th century open fireplace that forms its centrepiece, features dark wooden furniture and the heavy leather armchairs in art deco style, creating a unique retro-look that reminds one of English or Hanseatic clubs. Here you can enjoy fantastic wines, tasty whiskeys and good cigars. You can also start your day with an extensive and healthy breakfast, either buffet or à la carte, in the “Faveo” Restaurant. Enjoy a wide range of cold and warm breakfast items, fresh fruits, cereals and pastries from the bakery. Alternatively, adjacent to the elegant restaurant, is the Wine Room, serving as the hotel`s wine cellar, “Vecino.” Surrounded by the countless bottles of wine and champagne that are stored here, you will have the feeling of being in the middle of a Tuscan vineyard.
