Excellent location close to the shopping center. Staff was kind and helpfull as well. Breakfast buffet is nice and empty plates get refilled swiftly. No negative comments, good recommendation!

Frankly, the staff there were not friendly. To me, it might be the habitual behaviour of German. They spoke softly and you could not hear what being said, when you asked again, they gotten mad ! This is not happening in Asian countries here, we are simply, polite and patient.. German ought to learn this. Counter staff ought to be more friendly and put on more smile as it cost nothing at all. Make customers feel at home. Why so unfriendly... Frankly, hotel is clean and organised. However, it lacks of clear location map though the distant is short to hotel from Klon train station, but we ought to make a big round in order to find Crystal Hotel, Why not put up a detailed map from the said location, just train station to hotel, particular, to show the walk way distant.Paaserby knew very little about the way to hotel as road name not clearly indicated, simply the hotel located at odd place.

Very close to Cologne Cathedral, about a 5 minute walk. We booked 6 months in advance and asked for 3 rooms on a low level floor. The hotel has 4 floors, 2 rooms were on the 3rd floor and one on the 4th. The room on the 4th floor was very small, double bed pushed hard against the wall, headboard that did not reach right across bed. We got the feeling it was really a single that they had put a double bed in. We did complain and were allocated a new room the following day on the 3rd floor which was a double room and more spacious. Excellent breakfast with very attentive service. If you want tea at breakfast you just need to ask. No tea or coffee making facilities in room and no where in hotel to buy one. As it was winter we did not need the windows open but be aware the hotel is close to a main road and the train station and the trains run all night. We would use this hotel again as it was so convenient to the city centre, was clean, with towels changed every day and bed linen changed every other day and pleasant, helpful staff.

Top Tip

We went to see the Christmas markets. If you are short of time would not recommend the floating or medieval market. Unless you really, really like crowds avoid Friday evening and all day Saturday as it was heaving! Do have a cup of hot chocolate at the Chocolate Factory it was fantastic as were the cakes. Don't miss going into the cathedral. We flew into Weeze airport and booked Vogt Taxis to pick us up, they were excellent, on time and efficient.
