The Barcelo Hotel is housed in a large, fairly basic 11-storey block, dating from the 1960s, which resembles an office building. The interior is comfortable and attractive, with the spacious lobby area elegantly styled in white and brown marble. The adjacent seating area is large and luxuriously furnished, with large windows along one side and crystal chandeliers making it bright and cheerful. The 301 guestrooms feature a warm colour scheme of light browns and white, complemented by light wood furniture. They are all clean and well maintained, as are the en suite bathrooms. The first floor “Sands” restaurant serves international cuisine prepared from only the freshest ingredients for lunch and dinner. It also combines a Live Cooking Station, pleasant décor and tremendous light effects with excellent service. The lobby bar is a meeting point with an international atmosphere, where continental breakfast, small dishes, coffee/tea and drinks are served.
