Hotel does not have comfortable bar area to sit at the end of a busy day which is really disappointing. Our room was over the piano bar/restaurant which was extremely noisy on Friday and Staurday night. It was so loud we could hear the music clearly until early hours. Likewise our room was on the main road side so impossible to have window open and the noise from the street kept us awake.

Lovely Christmas market over the road which was so convenient.

Stairs can be a problem on the lower floors. Good public transport available and plenty of local restaurants serving varied cuisine. Good location for Christmas markets.

Flandrischer Hof is an excellent hotel, very good value, spacious rooms, helpful staff and spotlessly clean. Walking distance from the centre, trams and restaurants. Highly recommended.

There is an excellent italian restaurant almost opposite the hotel. Walk down the side streets to the Dome and you will find small clothes and food shops. If your first visit to Koln a fun outing is a visit to the chocolate museum and the modern art museum, if you are interested, has an excellent collection. Finally, for excellent food, good value and choice go to the retaurant in the large Department Store Kaufhof, it offers everything and you can have salad, main course, wonderful cakes etc. for less than 10 euros.

Mosch Mosch is an excellent Japanese restaurant near the hotel. Great curry wurst stall is also nearby.

The hotel is going through a refurbishment programme so some rooms are more up to date. All clean and even the single rooms are spacious. Within walking distance of all the sites.

Superb value, local to everything, helpful staff, good rooms, can't fault it.

Top Tip
To access main station and cathedral, use Friesenplatz U-Bahn rather than the slightly closer Rudolfsplatz. The former is a direct service, no changes needed, still very close and quick cheap service.

A fabulous hotel which I would recommended to anyone wanting a hotel within walking distance of all attractions & nightlife. The hotel was exceptionally clean with staff more than helpful and very friendly - we did get told off once of twice(but there were 25 of us so were a little noisy) The little haribo sweets on the bed each morning was fab as well. I would go back again without a doubt. The hotel bar is fantastic and has live entertainment every night.
