The Flandrischer Hotel is a mid-terrace, 7-storey property, composed of 3 original buildings, which date from the 1950s and 60s. The main building has a white concrete façade, except for the ground floor, which is clad in red brick with attractive window frames. The medium sized lobby is very attractive, with a splendid beamed ceiling and a large Persian-style carpet. Also medium sized, the 143 guestrooms are mainly decorated in bold colours (dark blue carpets with white motifs and light, pale walls), complemented by stark angular fixtures. Some of the other rooms, however, are more gently decorated in lush pale blues with blue wooden fixtures. Offering a rich Continental buffet every morning, the breakfast room is appointed in a very modern style, with high-backed black chairs, white walls and a dark blue carpet. There is a skylight above the buffet table which creates a nice focal point for the room. There is also a casual, independently run, split-level bar/restaurant with a show kitchen and gallery cocktail bar.
