this hotel is well located for all the sights in Cologne, apart from train and river trips, we did not need public transport. I have 2 reservations re the hotel, it was 4* but had no coffee/tea maker in the room. Also, due to the location, outside was noisy over the weekend. I always travel with earplugs, so was not too bothered with the noise

Top Tip
All local restaurants were good, spoilt for choice. The Dom is a 10 min walk away, as is the rail station. Several good museums within walking distance, the Romano one was excellent, the chocolate museum, by the Rhine is a must! We got a train ticket for 39euro return to Koblenz, this allowed for up to 5 people, check out the timetables and prices on the machines at the station, you can print out small timetables. If you check the price of a ticket for one person, it is more expensive! No senior fares available. If you are over 60 you can travel for 1/2 price on a Sunday or Monday on the KD cruises. Take the rail bridge walk over the Rhine and checkout the padlocks on the fence! I cannot rate the friendliness of the people in Cologne highly enough, everyone spoke English, even the boy selling ice cream from a kiosk.

Excellent standards for a 3star hotel. Very helpful staff, lovely comfortable room with clean tiled shower room en-suit. Despite being bang in the middle of the old town it was a nice quite location. Very easy reach of many good restaurants and bars. Well placed for the town centre and the Catheral - also well placed for the many Christmas Markets (for visitors in Dec). All in all highly recommended.

no sandwiches in the bar/reception :-( There are b.ex. "Wasa sandwich" one can keep for a few days in the fridge. good hotel for tall people, (6'5 and taller) as you have no problems with your feet pushing against the end of the bed - the beds are all flat, so your feet are free outside.
