The Ascot Hotel is housed in a terraced building, comprising a charming, 6-storey, 19th-century section with decorative stonework, and an adjoining, plainer, 8-storey, late 20th-century block. The interior is warm and welcoming, with a lobby featuring a dark green and brown colour scheme and heavy leather furniture, which combine to lend it the style of a typical English gentlemen's club. The 44 guestrooms are likewise appointed in a traditional, homely style. All are clean and well maintained, as are the functional en suite bathrooms. The breakfast room’s white tiled floor and white furniture lend it a bright, airy atmosphere, which is only enhanced by the large windows. It offers a Continental buffet every morning. There’s also a pleasant courtyard edged with small shrubs; furnished with tables and chairs in summer.
